I started my career at Telkom (SA) in 1987 as a fresh graduate from the University of Cape Town (U.C.T). I worked at Telkom SA for nearly 10 years, working my way into a System Specialist / Team Leader role primarily working on the Beltel Public Videotex system (a pre-cursor to the Internet).

I moved to New Zealand in 1996 and with the move adopted a switch from software to infrastructure. Three years later, I started my consulting career at Computerland NZ (now part of Gen-i) and progressed to Principal Consultant at Optimation NZ.
